Challenge your hands and your mind with 30 ways to brush letter in my daily challenge.
Brush lettering is something I’ve been doing for well over a year now. I actually enjoy it. But, brush lettering can feel like you’re in a rut if you do the same boring lettering styles over and over again.
The Motivation Behind My Challenge
I wanted to challenge myself to think outside of the box. I wanted to give myself the opportunity to try and create my brush letters in various ways that didn’t feel stiff, or just like anything else I created.
So, I challenged myself to take one letter of the alphabet each day and push myself to brush letter it differently, 30 different ways.
It wasn’t easy to figure out how to draw a letter “O” 30 different ways. It pushed me in ways I didn’t realize it would.
The things I learned:
- It’s okay to look around on Google and see if there are ways a letter is formed to get your brain working.
- You can mix and match how you started and stopped a letter.
- Give yourself permission to go slow.
