I know I haven’t posted in a bit. Been busy with shipping orders for the holidays for my sticker shop and miniature shop (@hollymccaigcreative and @aspenminiature) it’s that busy time of year. I’m grateful for being busy as this loss of my sweet Lola has been really tough. It’s been the hardest pet loss I think I’ve ever experienced. Thank you for all the many messages. I simply couldn’t reply to all of them because my heart was hurting and it made me cry too much. I told myself I need to get back to life and get through the holidays. I know I’ll adopt again. My heart needs dogs in it. So thank you. Trying to be artsy again. Can you believe I had to hunt down my Apple Pencil it had been so long since I drew with it? This is something I started working on yesterday. Will share more about it on Tuesday!

I had to say goodbye to my sweet girl Lola today. Saying goodbye to your two babies a month apart should be illegal. I will miss her so much.

Here's a simplified way to use the new Autumn Bota

Here's a simplified way to use the new Autumn Botanical Brushes (sale ends Sunday). Swipe through.
1. Stamp your leaf with your favorite color
2. Next, on a new layer above, choose clipping mask and multiply (blend mode) and use the flannel brush to go over it with texture (using same color as stamp)
3. For more depth, on a new layer above, clipping mask and multiply with same color, use an air brush to go over the edges.
4. Pick a stitch brush and on a new layer above go around the leaf - adjust size of brush to meet your canvas size
5. On a new layer below the stitch, use the mono brush with the pack and black to dot little holes under each stitch.
6. I then duplicate my stitch layer (below) and choose alpha lock and fill with black. Turn off alpha lock and do a very slight gaussian blur.
7. Finally, create a realistic drop shadow.

It’s my favorite time of year. But all the pretty leaves have fallen. I wish we could have them all year round. Made this piece using my new Procreate brushes, Autumn Botanicals (on sale thru Sunday).
